Manta Vantage is our new ML based voyage operational planning and optimisation solution. It is cloud-based and built to generate voyage-specific guidance before and during the voyage. Instead of relying on generic fuel consumption curves, industry averages or standard vessel-class assumptions, it uses physics-informed machine learning trained on the vessel’s own historical data.
The model combines actual vessel behaviour with forecast weather and ocean conditions to calculate an optimal plan for propulsion power across the voyage.
This gives operators a planning process based on how the individual vessel performs in real operating conditions, not how similar vessels are expected to perform.
With each completed voyage, new operational data can be added to the learning process, allowing the model to improve over time and support increasingly relevant recommendations for future voyages.
With Manta Vantage, an upcoming voyage can be planned around the vessel’s own performance profile, forecast environmental conditions and operational requirements:
Manta Vantage is built around the individual vessel rather than broad industry averages. By combining our state-of-the-art models together with atmospheric and oceanic weather, together with atmospheric and oceanic weather data, plotting that towards your existing route plan and required ETA.
The solution turns historical performance data, forecast weather and forecast currents into practical voyage-specific recommendations. This helps operators move from collected data to planning support that can inform decisions before the vessel leaves port.
Manta Vantage is designed to support a workflow were voyage planning and onboard execution work together with FuelOpt. While FuelOpt helps operators optimise vessel performance through different operational modes, Manta Vantage adds the dimension of timing. By combining a vessel-specific machine learning model with forecast weather and ocean conditions, Manta Vantage determines not only how much power should be used, but when it should be used throughout the voyage. In combination with FuelOpt, voyage-specific recommendations can be translated into onboard execution. Together, Manta Vantage and FuelOpt connect voyage planning with onboard execution, helping operators make better informed decisions before departure and throughout the voyage.
We are now making Manta Vantage available to a limited number of additional operators through our Early Access Programme.
We have already developed vessel-specific models for five vessels across five different customer organisations and are currently running technical pilot projects.
We are now opening the opportunity for five additional customers to gain early access to Manta Vantage and develop vessel-specific models for their vessels.

No. Manta Vantage generates recommendations using the vessel’s own operational history. Instead of relying on generic assumptions, industry averages or standard vessel-class benchmarks, every voyage plan is built around how the individual vessel actually performs.
Manta Vantage uses historical vessel performance, weather forecasts and ocean-condition forecasts to generate voyage-specific operational guidance before departure.
Yes. Every completed voyage adds new operational data, helping the model continuously improve future recommendations.
Due to our route optimization algorithm in conjunction with your vessel specific model and forecast data, Manta Vantage will search for a set of instructions that minimizes the total energy spent during your voyage.
Manta Vantage is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), giving us a secure and scalable cloud foundation for handling vessel performance data. This allows us to support data-driven voyage recommendations while maintaining the reliability and flexibility needed for modern fleet operations.
Manta Vantage is part of Manta Pulse, which brings together Manta Vantage, FuelOpt and Fleet Analytics to connect every stage of the voyage. Together, these solutions combine vessel data, intelligent software and expert guidance from the Fleet Performance team to support continuous optimisation.
